IP address (Internet Protocol address)

IP address (Internet Protocol address address). Internet as an “interconnected network” is a vast computer network, which consists of a combined network of computers around the world ranging from computer networks owned by government, academic, public and private computer networks. To connect to the internet we need to apply to the ISP (Internet Service Provider).

 

That all the computers (hosts) connected to the internet to communicate, was made a standard protocol or rules governing the activities of communications data.

IP address (Internet Protocol address address)

TCP / IP is the official protocol for Internet applications since 1983 until now. In Protocol TCP / IP, each host is connected to the Internet must have an IP Address as a host on the network identification. The IP Address must be unique, there should be no IP address is the same one used by two different hosts. For example, Microsoft.com site has the IP address 207ሦ.250.119. Use of IP Address over the world are coordinated by a central body known as the internet IANA (Internet Asigned Number Authority).

In teoristis IP Address (Internet Protocol Address or often abbreviated IP) is a sequence of binary digits between 32-bit to 128-bit address used as identification for each host computer in a network the Internet. The length of this figure is 32-bit (for IPv4 or IP version 4), and 128-bit (for IPv6 or IP version 6) which indicates the address of the computer on the Internet network based on TCP / IP.

As was mentioned earlier that the IP Address consists of 32 bits (binary numbers) ranging from 00000000000000000000000000000000 to 1111111111�. For ease of writing the 32 bit binary number is divided into 4 groups (segments) that each – each group consisting of 8 bits (octets) separated by a dot (.) So that the writing becomes 00000000.00000000�.00000000 to 11111111.11111111.11111111.1111뿗 or if written in group is a decimal number from 0.0.0.0 to 255.255.255.255.

IP Address actually consists of two parts, namely the Network Identifier (netid) that play a role in the identification of a network from another network and the Host Identifier (HostID) which determine the address of the host or computer on a network. So the whole host that is connected in the same network will have a bit network (netid) the same. The analogy is like a home address consisting of street name and house number.

Classes of IP Address
There are five IP address classes, namely Class A, Class B, Class C, Class D and Class E are all designed for the needs of the types of organizations or users.

Thus, theoretically there are 128 Nework (2 pangkat7) from 127.xxx.xxx.xxx 0.xxx.xxx.xxx to which each network has a 2 to the power 24 or 16,777,216 hosts.
In actual networks there are only 126 available because there are two addresses are set aside for specific purposes, namely 0.xxx.xxx.xxx and 127.xxx.xxx.xxx

Thus, theoretically there are two ranks of 14 or 16 384 Newok 191.255.xxx.xxx 128.0.xxx.xxx to which each network has two ranks of 16 or 65,536 hosts.
Because there are two addresses to be used for specific purposes that are effective then the hostid is hosted as many as 65 534.

Class C IP Address

Thus, theoretically there are two ranks of 21 or 2,097,152 Newok 223.255.255.xxx 192.0.0.xxx to which each network has ał rank 8 or 256 hosts.
Because there are two addresses to be used for specific purposes that are effective then the hostid is as much as 254 hosts.

IP Address Class D
